Ridgeline Safety Systems was originally developed in conjunction with Cool Roofs Patent Pending Trim 1st system. This system allows the roof trim to be put on before the panels. There are numerous advantages to this, including increased safety, efficiency, aesthetics, weather tightness during panel installation, and a huge increase in uplift force required to rip off the ridge.
This system really shines in higher pitched residential applications. Putting the ridge on first allows nailers to be placed on the roof and used for the entire trim installation, and eliminates the need to get back on the new steel to install the panels. Simply work your way off the roof while installing panels, all while hooked into your Ridge Hooks.
Another great benefit to the Trim 1st system is the increased strength of the trim. This is due to the trim being secured to the trusses, purlins, or sheeting underneath the steel. This in itself greatly increases the strength over traditional screw down ridge cap, but when coupled with our Ridgeline Safety Systems anchors you get the ultimate in strength! The anchors and ridge cap interlock and create a roof that is ready to stand up the toughest environments. If your home or business is in a coastal area threatened by hurricanes, demand the Ridgeline Safety Systems and Trim 1st package!!
Are you an old dog that has learned enough new tricks? We get it! While the trim first / anchor package creates the ultimate roof system, Ridgeline Safety Systems anchors work great with traditional trim systems! Simply install the anchors to provide safe tie off points as you work. Once the roof is sheeted a traditional screw down ridge cap will go right over the anchors. This is practical on a low pitch when it is not difficult to get back up the roof to put the ridge on, or an area where there is a low risk of extremely windy conditions. You get all the benefits of the anchor system, including the ability for professionals of any trade to use Ridge Hooks in the future!
